The Mining Disrupt News Surge for Monday, November 11, 2024 came out the week after the US election. The host had said the week before that the industry was entering historic times. He opened this one by saying the changes had been bigger than he expected.
This might be the single most bullish news surge that I have done since I have started doing these, and I do not say that lightly.

The episode runs about seven minutes. It follows the show's usual shape: a look at the network, one post for each day of the week, then the host's own thoughts.
The network on a weekend
He read the numbers from timechaincalendar.com, which he called his favorite place to see Bitcoin at a glance. The price on screen was $77,363, on a weekend, with traditional markets closed.
Markets are closed, and Bitcoin is at an all-time high.

A new block arrived while he was talking. The average block time was 9 minutes and 53 seconds, on-chain fees were low, unconfirmed transactions were under 200,000, and public nodes were over 19,000.
A post for each day
Monday's post came from Daniel Batten. It said a multi-billion-dollar UK pension fund had announced a 3% Bitcoin allocation, which as a share of the fund was 30 times the Wisconsin pension fund's allocation and the largest of any such fund so far.
Tuesday was Gary Leland's call for Ross Ulbricht to be freed on day one, and Michael Saylor's post that "we have a Bitcoin president." Wednesday was Senator Cynthia Lummis saying, the day after the election, that the US would build a strategic Bitcoin reserve.
Thursday's post was from Dennis Porter of Satoshi Action, whom the host called "Bitcoin's own Joe Rogan". Porter wrote that in 2025 multiple states would have strategic Bitcoin reserve legislation introduced. Friday, James Lavish wrote that Lummis and others were working on a bill for the US government to buy 1 million Bitcoin over five years, while some people were still selling under 100k. Saturday's post called a 180k cycle top conservative.
Why he thought bears were missing it
The host said it was hard to put a framework around what the election meant. He listed what he saw: a president who had spoken at the Bitcoin conference, a vice president known to hold Bitcoin, and RFK on Trump's transition team after what he called one of the best Bitcoin speeches at the same conference. He said 48 of 48 politicians backed by Bitcoiners were now in office.
Now just try to wrap your head around the idea that the US might be getting a strategic Bitcoin reserve.

His argument was about game theory. If the US held Bitcoin, he asked, would Germany, France, Russia, India, Brazil, Japan, South Korea and other countries simply watch? He pointed to companies that had already bought: Metaplanet, [Semler] Scientific and MicroStrategy, and to the news that Microsoft would vote on holding Bitcoin. Even retail, he said, was starting to pay attention.
The gold comparison
He then listed what he sees as Bitcoin's advantages: scarcity, verifiability, permissionlessness, ease of use once you take time to understand it, and transportability. He added that the subsidy is cut in half every four years. He said he and many others think Bitcoin has a real chance of passing gold's market cap, and gave the price that would mean.
Now, if you're wondering what that price is, well, that's about 800, somewhere between 800 and $850,000 per coin.

He closed by pointing viewers to the Mining Disrupt Expo in Fort Lauderdale, March 25 to 27, 2025, saying the mining sector is where to be on the ground floor of Bitcoin. Mining Disrupt 2027 runs March 22 to 24 in Irving, Texas.
When this episode was published, Bitcoin traded at $82,199. On October 26, 2026 it was $80,119.
