Rare earth minerals opened the Mining Disrupt News Surge for Monday, September 8, 2025, and a stock-index forecast closed it. In between, the host of the weekly studio show walked through a White House post aimed at the Federal Reserve chair, a gold-versus-Bitcoin chart from an analyst he follows, and a clip of Eric Trump comparing Bitcoin with real estate. His point was that each item pointed the same way. The episode runs about seven and a half minutes, and the host opened it with a plain warning that it was entertainment and education, not financial advice.
He began with the network numbers. Bitcoin was "just over" $110,000, fees for priority and next-block confirmation were still in the single digits, more than 100,000 transactions sat waiting in the mempool, and more than 23,000 nodes were online. He also counted down to the Mining Disrupt Expo in Irving, Texas, about two months away, a five-minute ride from the Dallas airport.
Rare earths and a supply chain run through China
The first story came from a weekly show the host said he listens to a day or two after it airs. Its subject was rare earth minerals, which he said reach the United States mostly from China.
Rare earth minerals are predominantly coming to the US from China right now.
Mining Disrupt News Surge host · 1:27
He put the share at "something like 90%" and added that minerals mined elsewhere still tend to be refined in China. Those materials go into weapons, computers and other national defense needs, and they come from a country with which, in his words, the United States is "on tenuous terms." His conclusion was that rare earth manufacturing needs to move to the United States. He did not cite a source for the 90% figure beyond the show he was summarising.
A White House post aimed at Jerome Powell
From there he moved to monetary policy, starting with a post from the official White House account. He stressed that it was not a parody account.
This is the official account blasting Jerome Powell for being too late.
Mining Disrupt News Surge host · 2:09
The post itself said only "too late," he noted, and below it was a Donald Trump post saying Powell should have lowered rates long ago. The host said the speculation at the time was for two rate cuts that year, and that as much as 100 basis points of cuts was possible, which he called "monumental." His larger claim was that a great deal of new money was about to be created: not billions or millions, he said, but "trillions with a T." He offered this as his own reading of the moment, not as a figure from the Fed.
Gold, a retracement and an April comparison
To tie the money printing back to Bitcoin, the host read a post from an analyst on X he named as Macroscope 17, whom he praised as a steady source of signal.
Gold is screaming to be long Bitcoin once this Bitcoin retracement is done.
Macroscope 17 · 3:07
The post compared the moment with April, when gold had just moved up from the $3,400 to $3,500 area and Bitcoin had pulled back from about $109,000 to $75,000 before turning. The analyst described that turn as a positive divergence by Bitcoin from risk assets, after which Bitcoin ran to new highs, and said the current timing was unknown. The host set it beside the recent price action: Bitcoin had been near $124,000 a little earlier and was back around $110,000, briefly touching $109,000. To him, that looked much like April. He added that gold, as the larger, older and better-known risk-off asset, tends to draw money first, with Bitcoin "not far behind."
Eric Trump on selling a building versus moving Bitcoin
The third item was a clip of Eric Trump speaking at a Metaplanet event in Japan. The host framed it as a point Bitcoiners have long made about Bitcoin and real estate, now coming from someone who builds hotels and residential towers for a living.
If I want to sell one of those buildings, it can take me 18 months to sell one of those buildings, right?
Eric Trump · 4:50
In the clip, Eric Trump said there are very few buyers for a large building, while Bitcoin can be moved at 11 at night on a Saturday. He called it one of the greatest stores of value and said it cannot be taken by any government or stolen.
It can't be taken by any government. It can't be stolen. It's safe.
Eric Trump · 5:18
The host said the content of the remarks was familiar; what mattered to him was who was saying them. A year earlier, before the election, he said, a president's son speaking about Bitcoin this way would have been unheard of. He granted that some would say it was just about money, and answered that this was the point, because Bitcoin is money. A skyscraper, a single-family home or even a studio apartment takes months and paperwork to sell, he said.
The forecast: Strategy in the S&P 500
He ended with a prediction he said he was recording on a Friday, knowing viewers would already have the answer: that MSTR, the ticker of Strategy, formerly MicroStrategy, would be added to the S&P 500. His reasoning was the same signals he had just covered, and his view that "the powers that be" want to move toward a Bitcoin-aligned future.
We'll see if I'm right, but I do think we are entering a very new and wild monetary order.

Then and now
The forecast did not hold. On Friday, September 5, 2025, S&P Dow Jones Indices named AppLovin, Robinhood and Emcor for the September rebalance, and Strategy was left out even though it met the eligibility criteria; its shares fell after the announcement. Bitcoin, which the host read at about $110,000, traded at $112,078 on September 8, 2025. On October 26, 2026 it trades at $80,011.
The show continued in person at the Mining Disrupt Expo that November. The next edition is Mining Disrupt 2027, March 22 to 24 in Irving, Texas.
