JASMINER's X16 Pitch: High Hashrate at 0.32 Joules

At Mining Disrupt Miami 2023, Grant Li of JASMINER argued that high hashrate and low power draw can coexist, and showed the X16 series to prove it.

Grant Li came to Mining Disrupt Miami 2023, held July 25–27, 2023, with one question for the room: can a miner deliver high hashrate and low power consumption at the same time? Li, Sales Manager at JASMINER, spent about seven minutes answering it with the company's own hardware, a short pitch built around the X16 series and a single efficiency figure, 0.32 joules.

Bitcoin traded at $29,137 when he spoke. On October 20, 2026, it was $81,849.

The problem he set out

Li started from the incentive every miner knows. A machine with more hashrate earns more rewards, so operators want more of it, but more hashrate has meant a bigger power bill. He called that power demand a problem for the whole industry, not only for the operator paying for it.

a large amount of power required for mining is a global problem that not only burdens the environment but also waste energy

His answer was that lower power consumption cuts operating cost and reduces the environmental impact, and that new chip designs can get there without giving up hashrate.

Who JASMINER said it is

Li described JASMINER as a high-throughput miner manufacturer built on its own ASIC research and development, with customers in more than 100 countries and regions. The company is headquartered in Singapore, which he called its global marketing center, with research and development in North America and manufacturing in Asia.

On the technical side, he said the team developed what it calls the first 3D integrated memory and computing high-throughput processor, using chip stacking and a high-bandwidth on-chip network, and applied it to the X4 and X16 product lines.

He also told the audience that JASMINER works with Intel's foundry service on mining chip design and called the company Intel's only crypto partner for that work. That is the company's claim as stated on stage; the session gave no detail on the arrangement.

The X16 numbers

Li walked through the product history from the X4 family, which he put at 0.36 joules, to the newer X16 series. The X16-Q runs at 1,950 megahashes per second on a power draw of 620 watts, which is where the 0.32 joules per megahash comes from. He said it carries 8 gigabytes of memory, runs the Etchash algorithm used by Ethereum Classic, and operates at 40 decibels; it is designed for home use.

The X16-P is the farm version. He put its power draw at 1,900 watts, at the same 0.32 joules per megahash.

For a newcomer, the figure to read is joules per unit of hashrate. It measures how much electricity a machine spends for each unit of work, and a lower number means a lower power bill for the same output. These are Etchash machines, so the figures cannot be compared with Bitcoin ASICs, which are rated in joules per terahash.

What came next

Li closed on the company's plans: computing power infrastructure, data center operation and value-added computing services, a new generation of high-throughput chips, and new miners for Bitcoin and zero-knowledge proofs that he said were coming soon. He invited the audience to see X16 samples at the booth.

high actually low consumption mining is it possible I'm very proud to tell you that way it's [JASMINER] the answer is yes
