Steven Eliscu, Chief Operating Officer of DMG Blockchain, used a six-minute slot at Mining Disrupt Miami 2024, held June 24–26, 2024, to introduce TerraPool, the company's mining pool, and to explain how it fits a larger plan: mine blocks with carbon neutral energy, then sell the space inside those blocks to financial institutions and content creators.
He opened with a caveat. DMG is a public company, so what followed included forward-looking statements, and the targets he gave were plans at the time, not results.
unlike most of the other companies here, we still have a startup mentality, but we're actually a public company

Two businesses: mining and Core Plus
Eliscu described DMG as split into two pieces. The first is the core mining business, which he said ran on carbon neutral energy and was expected to grow from about 1 exahash to 1.7 exahash by the end of July 2024. The second is a business DMG calls Core Plus, which he described as software and services for monetizing Bitcoin transactions.
The link between the two is the block itself. DMG produces blocks as a miner, and Core Plus is meant to fill them.
We generate blocks as a Bitcoin miner. And we fill those blocks with transactions from financial institutions and content creators.

He named what each group wants. Institutions, in his telling, need a way to move Bitcoin that carries no carbon and keeps them clear of coins tied to bad actors. Creators want to put content on the chain on the same carbon-free terms, using what he called the 4 megabyte real estate of each Bitcoin block.
Custody for institutions
For the institutional side, Eliscu pointed to one missing piece: a custodian to hold the Bitcoin. DMG had created a trust company earlier that year for that purpose (the captions render its name as "systemic trusts"), and he said the company expected it to hold a qualified custodian license before the end of 2024.
TerraPool: not the biggest, the first
Eliscu was direct that size was not the goal. TerraPool, he said, was the first carbon neutral pool, and it needed to be large enough to reliably produce the block space the rest of the plan depends on.
The whole idea with TerraPool is not necessarily to be the biggest pool. We are the first carbon neutral pool.

The pool's pitch to miners rests on provenance, which he noted the Bitcoin ledger provides for free. Because newly created Bitcoin can be tracked on chain, miners on TerraPool can receive what he called green Bitcoin. He framed the price question as a hope rather than a fact: "We hope that over time green Bitcoin will command the premium."
On terms, he said TerraPool pays out on FPPS with a competitive fee structure. He added that pool clients may share in revenue from other deals, citing DMG's announced collaboration with PayPal and what he called the unlocked bounty in that case. He also said DMG expected SOC 2 Type 2 compliance later that summer and runs the pool on enterprise-grade infrastructure.
He closed by asking pool members to help shape how the pool evolves, and invited attendees to DMG's booth, number 38.
Then and now
When this session was recorded, Bitcoin traded at $61,272; on October 27, 2026 it was $79,595. The full session is embedded above. More talks from Mining Disrupt are in the magazine, and Mining Disrupt 2027 runs March 22–24 in Irving, Texas.
